Visual Studio 2012 Update 1

At the Visual Studio 2012 and .NET launch event in September S. Somasegar (Soma), Corporate Vice President of the Developer Division at Microsoft, talked about Microsoft’s strong commitment to delivering continuous value through their new approach for providing updates to Visual Studio on a regular cadence of shorter intervals. On November 26th Soma announced the first of these updates to the already powerful Visual Studio 2012.

Microsoft Announces More Price Increases

This has been a very busy year for Microsoft Corporation, what with the release of several new editions of well-known software, as well as the advent of the Microsoft Surface Tablet. Microsoft has also been busy restructuring their licensing models, and have now announced that their pricing models for several products will change.

In addition to the upcoming price increase on User CALs, Microsoft plans to increase prices for a number of other product lines, beginning December 1st, 2012.

Microsoft Announces Drastic Price Changes

Microsoft has recently announced that pricing for all Microsoft Open License User CALs will increase by 15%. This comes as a shock to many IT professionals, because in the past, Microsoft has generally offered both User and Device CALs at roughly the same price.
