Office 365 is one of the fastest growing Microsoft products to date and offers many different options for business customers. With seven different business and enterprise plans, Office 365 has a solution for every business’s needs.
Office 365 for commercial use is available for purchase through two different programs: Open Business and Cloud Service Provider (CSP). Both programs offer the same products; the differences are in how quickly new license agreements are processed and how subscriptions are billed.
An Open Business license must be paid for upfront, locks you into a one-year subscription, takes one to two business days to process with Microsoft even when adding seats to your existing subscription, and has no easy way to remove seats from your subscription if you no longer require them. This option is best for businesses who prefer to make a one-time purchase every year and don’t need to add or remove seats quickly.
One of the greatest benefits of CSP is that you can choose to be billed monthly or annually for your subscription. CSP also allows you to add and remove seats quickly as needed. You only pay for seats you’re actually using. The provisioning time for CSP is two to three business hours from the time your order is placed. This option is best for businesses with constantly changing Microsoft Office needs or who prefer a monthly billing cycle.
