    The best tools mentioned above caters to different segments of industries/sectors e.g. Primavera is well known in large construction project, MS Project has been a leader in generic project scheduling until recently. Basecamp is good for short duration projects for marketing agencies, etc

    There are really good alternatives for these software. I’d suggest our own tool – ZilicusPM

    It offers scheduling – Gantt chart, task management (dependency, lag time, parent child/nested tasks), issue tracking, resource management (utilization, % allocation, resource load, cost rates, etc), risk register, document management, meeting manager, etc.
