What’s New in Corel Painter 12.2 Update?

New Flow Maps

Art by Skip Allen

The Corel Painter 12.2 update gives you even more control over how your paint interacts with the canvas. Flow Maps allow you to direct the flow of paint from your Real Watercolor and Real Wet Oil brushes. You can guide pigment, oil and watercolor to create more saturation in the valleys and less in the peaks. This enhancement includes 3 new watercolor brushes, 3 expressive Flow Maps, and new palettes that enable you to create custom Flow Map brushes and textures of your own.

New Multi-Touch Support for Wacom Intuos5 and Cintiq 24HD Touch Interactive Pen Displays

The new Corel Painter 12.2 update lets you navigate your canvas with ease and precision using multi-touch finger gestures on supported tablets. The  intuitive multi-touch support alls you to zoom, rotate and pan, even at the same time. This allows for seamless positioning and manipulation of your canvas with just a few simple finger motions. You can also easily alter the rotation and zoom reference point, depending on the position of your fingers.

New Vertical Docking

The newest Corel Painter 12 update allows you to dock a palette header to the vertical edge of the window, using a simple drag-and-drop functionality. Reposition palettes by simply detaching them from the workspace and dragging them to another location.

New Corel Cinco for Painter

Cinco is a nifty companion application that allows you to remotely access and control Corel Painter from your iPad. Offered through the Mac App Store, this app lets you expand your canvas area and reduce on-screen clutter. You can save time and stay focused on your artwork, because Cinco can also replace the need for traditional keyboard short-cuts. Using an Authentication Code, you can securely control Corel Painter running on your Desktop, via your iPad.
