Symantec Announces Changes to Maintenance Offerings

The software licensing model offered by Symantec, makers of Backup Exec, has long included several maintenance and support options that customers could choose from. However, in an effort to simplify their licensing model, and improve their interactions with customers, Symantec has begun to consolidate their maintenance packages into a single, 24×7 support offering for all of their software products.

As of July 2, 2012, Symantec has simplified their support offerings by publishing only the Essential Support products to customers and partners, the goal being to reduce the complexity of their licensing program.
